Instantbird offers support for Adium plug-ins, but there’s a catch: they only work on certain versions, and most only work on older versions. What made Digsby special was that it could use Adium’s clean and gorgeous message styles - your eyes wouldn’t strain getting used to a new IM client if you switch between a PC and Mac. Having launched back in December 2007, Digsby has been the multi-protocol instant messaging client of choice for many Windows users. Whereas Mac users have the privilege of using Adium, the choice of a Windows multi-protocol IM client has always been a little difficult to make.
